APPLE VALLEY, CA – Assemblyman Thurston “Smitty” Smith announced Tuesday that he had received the endorsement of the San Bernardino County Republican Party in his campaign for California’s 34th Assembly District.
“I am honored to receive the grassroots support of the San Bernardino County Republican Party as I continue my work to curb inflation, strengthen public safety, and bring common sense to Sacramento,” said Assemblyman Smith.
The San Bernardino County Republican Party joins a long list of endorsements from San Bernardino County, including Congressman Jay Obernolte, Senator Rosilicie Ochoa-Bogh, Sheriff Shannon Dicus, District Attorney Jason Anderson, Accessor/Recorder Bob Dutton, and Board of Supervisors Chairman Curt Hagman, Vice-Chair Dawn Rowe, and Supervisor Col. Paul Cook (ret.).
The newly created 34th Assembly District encompasses most of the former 33rd Assembly District. It includes Apple Valley, Barstow, Big Bear Lake, California City, Hesperia, Highland, Lancaster, Palmdale, Twentynine Palms, Victorville, and portions of unincorporated San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and Kern Counties.
Thurston “Smitty” Smith is a retired concrete contractor and small businessman. He has served as the Mayor of Hesperia and currently serves in the State Assembly.
